On August 5, 2020, we're launching another signature event we're calling "Girl Talk with G & Dee"! We're excited about this event and hope you are too.
Girl Talk with G & Dee will launch as a two part series hosted by "Straight"... But Not Narrow Ladies founders, G & Dee. Part 1 will be a Virtual Mixer & Girl Talk for the "girlie girls that like girlie girls" and Part 2 will be An Intimate Mixer held in NYC. We know how important it is for women of color to have safe spaces. "Straight"... But Not Narrow Ladies offers its members safe spaces to connect and express their thoughts and feelings. Girl Talk w/ G & Dee will be open to women of color and center on those with more fluid sexualities and underrepresented sexual preferences. Once the world becomes safer and more stable, we will host our signature Girls Talks and Mixers in various areas across the country and abroad. Stay tuned!

This event is exclusively for women of color and YOU should join us!!
Many women of color do not have the privilege to discuss or express their sexuality freely. They were not raised in households where sex and non-heteronormative ideals were topics for discussion. There are many stigmas and taboos related to sexual preferences in communities of color, which result in insecurities, shame, confusion and isolation. Do you know what we mean? It's a Friday evening, so grab a glass of something delicious and let's chat! Let's have an open and unfiltered conversation about bisexual women of color. This event is open to all women of color. Please RSVP for the Zoom link. www.straightbutnotnarrowladies.com Instagram: @straightbutnotnarrowladies We’re having a Virtual Happy Hour in collaboration with Unapologetic-Ly You. Our theme is Girl Talk & Pina Coladas and it’s an open invitation! Yes, this event is open to ALL women of color. YAY! You don’t need to be a member to attend. If you do drink pina coladas and have a good recipe, please share it with us! “Straight”… But Not Narrow Ladies because sometime girls that look “straight”, aren’t. www.straightbutnotnarrowladies.com Instagram: @straightbutnotnarrowladies We're niche. We understand that we are not for everyone and everyone is not for us. But with that said, if you believe in our mission and would like to support our efforts, please use the DONATE button at the bottom of our membership page or visit our crowdfunding page https://ifundwomen.com/projects/straight-not-narrow-ladies Here's our crowdfunding proposal: “Straight”… But Not Narrow Ladies is a bi and bi curious femme community for women of color. It was created to provide a safe space for discussion, exploration and meaningful interactions/connections for bi and curious women of color. The intersection of race and sexuality can be interestingly complexed for women of color as they are inherently faced with many challenges. Studies show that bisexuals are the largest group in the LGBTQIA+ community. But with this said, they are the most invisible and underrepresented as their existence and legitimacy is often questioned or even denied by not only heterosexuals but also members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Women of color often struggle to find visibility and representation. In a sense, women of color that fall outside of the heteronormative box are often isolated. They fall subject to the internal and external cultural stigmas, taboos, microaggressions and stereotypes around gender, race, sexuality and sexual expression. Communities of color are struggling with hunger, employment, violence, systemic racism and the residual effects of slavery, among other challenges. A place and a space to discuss sexual identity, curiosities or preferences is a privilege not afforded to many households. “Straight”… But Not Narrow Ladies recognizes the challenges and the need for safe spaces to discuss the aforementioned issues while creating meaningful connections. We strive to rewrite the toxic narrative of women of color, to empower them to own their truths and to support them in their search for liberation through open non-judgmental dialogue and curated events. What do we need? “Straight”… But Not Narrow Ladies needs funding to create our safe spaces and curated events. Specifically, funding will assist us with the following tasks:
“Straight”… But Not Narrow Ladies because sometime girls that look “straight”, aren’t. www.straightbutnotnarrowladies.com Instagram: @straightbutnotnarrowladies Tonight, July 1, 2020, we're watching part one of an interesting documentary with women of color discussion sex, sexuality, their first times and more.
Sex and sexuality are taboo topics in many households and especially for women of color. To be able to openly and freely express one's thoughts and feelings is a privilege many women of color do not have. We will watch this documentary as a group and discuss our thoughts and experiences with sex and our sexualities. I'm SO excited about this event. We'd love for you to join us.
